Also representatives from the Physical culture and sport Committee, Industrical and Innovation politics Committee of St Petersburg, Russian Geographic Society.
Transcontinental all terrain expedition “To the East!” starts on 14 April 2017 from Archangelsk, goes through the Polar Circle and finishes in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy in the beginning of November. The length of the route is 10 thousand km.
The biggest part of the expedition will take place across the Polar Circle, and one of the most difficult parts will be getting past Plutoran’s Plateau – the part of the Central Siberian Plateau, as it has no roads and where people only used helicopters for transportation.
Expedition, and therefore demonstration of the transport abilities in the remote areas of Russia, became possible after a unique new development of the St Petersburg designer Alexey Garagashyan – an ATV amphibian Sherp was presented in 2015.
The ATV has very high indicators of passability, it is safe, reliable, economical and ecological. It is capable of overcoming long water obstacles, has good speed and is manageable on water. The maximum speed on land is 40 km per hour, on water – 6 km per hour.
The ATV is fully Russian development: the entire cycle of its construction and manufacturing is in Russia.
